How this song came to be:
The catalyst for the fictional narrative of this song was an image of a person walking away from an old dusty cabin in a desert landscape. I shaped the narrative from the perspective of a someone watching their partner walking away from them and the further away they get, their silhouette appears to be “flickering like a candlelight” as the final line of the chorus says. This song started to come to life in 2019 and my friend, Dylan Fishman, helped me in writing the lyrics. Before Andrew and I recorded this video this past fall of 2023, I made some adjustments to the song and it came to form as you see here!
I hope to arrange it with bass, fiddle and three part harmonies when I record it.
